This call for tender refers to the development of Section R4 of the non-stop North-South Corridor that will run with the current alignment of South Road. The Tender for the project was a select tender featuring 4 companies, Structural Solutions, Earth Engineering Group, Southern Cross Consultants & ED Consultants. The development will be situated between south of Ashwin Parade (Bennett Street) and south of Sir Donald Bradman Drive (Fredrick Street) and is approximately two kilometres long. It is also important that any development in the vicinity of South Road produces as little disruption as possible to South Road and its associated stakeholders.

Structural Solutions has developed a feasibility study proposal that aims to meet all of the specified goals and objectives as detailed in the call for tender document. Structural Solutions aims to investigate a range of solutions including an elevated motorway, lowered motorway, a tunnel or a hybrid of two or more of these options. The preliminary investigation will help inform cost estimates, risks and hazards as well as any symptomatic influences (property reclamation costs, social impacts, environmental effects and impacts to utility services).
